New interview...
Wow, 'they' (they?) finally posted another one of my admittedly off-kilter interviews... this one was conducted at the Alternative Media Expo a couple months ago. ENJOY - just don't take these idiots too seriously (I mean Authorviews, not the Consortium of Genius!)

AUTHORVIEWS INTERVIEW WITH DR. PINKERTON

Oh, by the way, if you've ever noticed that the Consortium of Genius is not mentioned in Wikipedia, it's obviously some kind of massive conspiracy or something (Go ahead and try looking it up...) I had put up a nice little stub entry on us a few years ago, but it was removed due to 'lack of relevance'... Been sitting back ever since waiting to see just WHAT level of breathtaking notoriety was required for us to achieve the 'achievement' of making it onto Wikipedia...

P.S.: just got clued in on this... if you luv metal and you also like Homestar Runner, by all meanz CLICK HERE

"This is without a doubt the least educational video AuthorViews has ever released. It has no value whatsoever and will not enlighten you in the least about the COG or Dr. Pinkerton's musical talents. "

Obviously this person must be destroyed ...

It's deliberate reverse subversion... you see, I used the Mezmoronic Ray on him and MADE him write that, in order to lure more of the unwitting masses in! Brilliant, eh?

I'm an admin on Wikipedia, meaning I can check deleted content. There never was any article at "Consortium of Genius" nor "the Consortium of Genius".

Okay, I see you put it at "Consortium of genius". (Capitalization does matter on Wikipedia.) Looks generally okay to me. (Do you have a copy of your text, and if not, want one?) If you or someone else wishes to resubmit it, I'd reccomend including some links to press/web coverages as references establishing notability.

Thanks for checking! As it stands, I completely forget what I had put up back then. (did it tell you the year? Must have been 2003 or 2004 or thereabouts...)

Re: cApItAlIzAtIoN ... interesting! Does that mean that their filing system would actually permit separate entries for "Consortium of genius" and "Consortium of Genius" and "Consortium Of Genius"?!?? (Wow, I'd forgotten how much I hate that quirk of Unix...)

Well, if you DO get a chance to reinstate it, please do so under "Consortium of Genius," and let me know, so I can bring it up to date & embellish accordingly! We hopefully, probably have enough press coverage since then to make us 'noteworthy'...

The '''Consortium of Genius''' is a New Orleans-based music and comedy group launched in 1993 with the release of a now out-of-print cassette entitled, '''''Songs of Violence and Stupidity'''''. The live stage version of the band debuted in June 1996.

==Live Personnel==
Since their stage debut, the Consortium of Genius, or ''''C.O.G.'''' as they are abbreviated, have evolved through 4 distinct incarnations. The current version of the group includes '''Dr. Milo T. Pinkerton III''' (1996-present) on vocals, '''Dr. Zaemon Abdul Siddartha Mohammad Achmell Tutmos Abram Ali Hermes Odin Mahatma Dahali Martin Luther Hussein Kali Rocka Babu Haegiegi III''' (2001-present) on bass, '''Filbert W. Snodgrass''' (bassist from 1997-2000) on guitar, and '''drumbot''' (1996-present) on drums and percussion.

Previous members include '''Dr. Wolfgang A. Wissenschaft''' on guitar (1996-1998), '''Dr. Cornelius Smerlington''' on bass (1996-1997), '''Dr. A. Pentatonic''' on guitar (1999-2004), and '''Dr. Harry A. Rachnid''' on guitar (2005).

The lineup has always consisted of a bassist, a guitarist, a drummer, and a lead vocalist. Dr. Pinkerton is the only member to have performed in every stage show.

==Music==
The group's sound can generally be described as intricate style parody. They have put out 2 CD's to date, the self-published '''''Free Brains & Dead Bodies''''' in 2000, and '''''In C.O.G. We Trust''''' in 2004 on Little Blue Men records. To date the group has had the songs '''''M.I.L.K.''''', '''''Placebo''''', and '''''Bucket of Blood''''' aired on the Doctor Demento Show.

==Video==
Video is major outlet of the group's creative efforts on and offstage. In 2002 they released a DVD retrospective of works entitled '''''History of Future Civilization: 1997-2002''''' on Little Blue Men records. In 2005 they began work on an as-yet unaired TV series.

WikiCOG?

Alternate titles & capitalizations are generally made into automatic redirects (the code is: #REDIRECT [[Consortium of Genius]] ).

IMO COG has achieved sufficent notability to be withing Wikipedia Notability guidelines. I reccomend generous link/references to coverage so other editors seeing it the article can be clear it's not another vanity entry of some gigless crappy garage band that qualifies for speedy deletion. However note Wikipedia:Conflict of interest; the article shouldn't look like simple self promotion.

Other tips: I'd reccomend it be submitted by an account that has some useful edits improving other articles, rather than what looks to be a single purpose/article account. Some links to and from other articles also helps establish its place in Wikipedia (the existing Morgus the Magnificent article seems one likely link).

If you want to get together an article to resubmit I'll be happy to give some more feedback.

Hey, thanks! And big thanks for recovering the old article. After I get back from CoastCon I'm gonna have to modernize this a little and get it over to you for approval.

Again, gracias.

I've noticed it doesn't have an entry, yes. You should try posting it again.

Looks like the C.O.G. was part of the "Great Dementia Purge" of 2007.

Short version: Some people over at Wikipedia felt the need to get rid of every and all comedy/novelty singers & groups for whatever reason.
