Death to the Angel of dead...
...batteries.

All around me, batteries are going dead. Why? First it was my Scooba cleaning robot. Damned thing just wouldn't hold a charge (I'm trying to recondition that battery now...) Then one of the computers in my office starts forgetting the time and its CMOS settings. Time to pop in a new lithium battery. Then, yesterday, just as Jeannine and I are trying to get out to the theater and see Wall-E, the car won't start. After taking the truck there and then returning from the (great as usual Pixar) film, I determine that, yes, it was the car battery. (Well, on the other hand, it could have been the alternator, and THAT would have sucked a lot worse!) And now my cel phone's bleeping at me that it desperately wants a charge or it will go on strike too. *sigh*

Methinks machines are turning against me! Or at least possibly holding out for better w or something. My computer has certainly been cantankerous lately, requiring an OS refresh last week and skipping during a weekend recording session. I guess it remains for me to find out whether drumbot will rebel against the C.O.G. tonight at rehearsal, or whether my DVD/USB video player will choose to lock up while watching this weekend's Doctor Who! (speaking of which, did anybody manage to grab the commentary podcast to LAST week's amazing episode - "Turn Left"? If so, please let me know, as I missed downloading it while it was up!)

Rebel? Don't you mean plotting? I mean, who do you think organized your machines to turn on you? Were you mean to Drumbot again? He may be behind this.

What show did you go to? Susan and I went to the 10:30 a.m. show. Sunday mornings are generally not that crowded, although you do have to fight the outgoing crowds of the church that holds service in one of the theaters. BTW, I'm about to trash the old Nintendo cocktail shell if you, or anyone else wants it. It's stripped down to nothing, and has two lovely holes gashed open in the sides where the new control panels were going to go. I'm just going to scratch build a cocktail based on the Midway design. The layout of the Nintendo was just too limiting when it came to finding places to put my motherboard, power supply, etc.

Oh! We went to the 3pm showing. Surprisingly well behaved audience!

Nintendo cocktail: figures... I'd hate to have to cram stuff into one of those. A Midway style cab will be MUCH easier to work on!

Hahaha yeah, the C.O.G. Aircar is based on my old Nissan truck, the same one I use to transport arcade games, guitar amps, pinball machines, and barbecue grills...

Practically everything concerning the C.O.G. is, strangely, an extension of Real Life somehow!

If you have not seen 'The Stolen Earth', I would honestly say wait until the finale and watch them both. If you have seen TSE- OMGWTFBBQ!!!1!! . Other than that, you should watch 'The Middleman' on ABC Family. I really think you would appreciate it.

I heard it was pretty intense... as in "I'm going to kill someone if I have to wait another week to see what happens!"

Well, I only get two or three hours of TV time per week these days, and am thoroughly addicted to Venture Bros. and Metalocalypse... but I'll try to look into what you're talking about!

You're not the only one with sudden battery problems. All of the rechargeable packs for my Xbox 360 controllers have decided not to hold a charge and now my Treo battery. Maybe there's something in the New Orleans air. :cue spooky music:

I would simply have to find out WHERE the power was going to, capture it, then broadcast it out of phase to what was being contained - thereby using it to cancel ITSELF out. QED!

Batteries - to keep with the COG vein, I'd have to say that you, in fact, do not have 'The Power'. Or, to be more positive, you have 'Free Brains and Dead Batteries'.

I'll trade you - "Turn Left" commentary for "Stolen Earth"....

Sounds good! Maybe we could trade if we get the gang together for dinner with Tyson one of these nights. I have 'Stolen Earth' in a 350MB version and just DL'd a higher res 480MB copy as well.
