Stress? I eat stress for lunch!!!
I'd be lying if I claimed that there was nothing going on over here. On the contrary, it's been practically too hectic for me to take the 5 minutes to post an update here! So, catching up...
First off, I've confirmed the 19th of September for our next show, to be held at One Eyed Jacks. Yea!!! Popular choice counts for a lot around here, and I want our fans to be as happy as we are (and in return, each and every one of them needs to do us the favor of not only showing up, but dragging family and friends along with them!) This will be our big 100th live lecture, and I'm really looking forward to showing off all the C.O.G.'s new attributes, including our wonderful new Lab Girl, some new songs, my new Theremin, and (by that time) new lights and video. Should be quite an amazing night!
Aside from that, I've been fixing things fast and furiously over here... starting with, most importantly, my main computer, whose memory errors had gotten so bad that I couldn't trust it to stay up for more than a few minutes. Luckily NewEgg was still selling a version of the same mainboard, which I went ahead and purchased despite it caging me into an obsolete chip standard (socket 478). Why go this way? Well, the new mainboard was only $68 with shipping, and I didn't want to have to reregister all my apps that check the hardware. All this costed me was money and time (neither of which I have a bunch of, but hey.) It works now; life can go on, back at full memory bus speed! Also on the workbench recently: my spare A3000, destined for ebay, my bicycle (chain finally popped), the Sega Star Trek and Midway Omega Race (cap kits finally came in.)
Another thing that just came in from ebay: I've also purchased a small form factor Dell for driving the background video (and possibly the AUDIO portions of the C.O.G. stage show! It's possible, though not likely, for me to switch back to doing the whole thing on ONE computer, like in the old old days.) It's a 1.8Ghz Optiplex GX260. Got the computer from ebay for $29 plus shipping - what a steal. It'll fit right where the A3000 sits currently...
In other news, I'm taking the steps to form a real production company of my own. More on that soon...
