Update from last update
...it wasn't the hard drive. It's something else. No time to pursue this further; it's back to ol' Win95 for the show computer (which is OK, as I didn't have the light programming done anyway.) Time to pack up the Flying Car for tomorrow.
I couldn't get Win98 to run without sound skipping, and I can't get Win95 to do the USB interface due to missing USB infrastructure (it SORT of does USB but not fully.) So after this gig, I'm gonna try Win98 with the Crystal 4232 WDM driver handling the sound system and leaving the Turtle Beach driver in place for the sampler. If that doesn't work I'm getting a pro (audio only no midi) PCI sound card in that system and doing the samples off the Tropez and timing off the other sound card (I used to run my setup like that anyway a long time ago.) But now I must get to roadie-ing.
Oh, the word going around is that the state fire marshall's trying to shut down the House of Shock for the season! Hopefully this isn't it for 2008...
