All packed up and ready...
...to do sound at the Anne Rice Vampire Ball. Yeah, I'm working on Halloween night, but I'll be around friends (in fact, Filbert's helping me with this, so at least I have expert, reliable help!) PA rental is also fairly lucrative, and it's a good excuse to exercise the sound system; it doesn't leave the lab very often (mostly because it's so bulky; two and a half trucks of equipment. We usually only perform where it's not necessary to bring our own PA system.) So tonight I went through all the wires and cords, made sure it was all working and packed it all away for travel.

Three bands are on the bill: Ex Voto (a local goth band we've shared the stage with in the past), Jill Tracy & Paul Mercer (keyboards and violin), and The Kinky Tuscaderos (a hodgepodge of local musicians doing some New Orleans music.)
