Real Drums on Power!
Tonight I had a great time recording real acoustic drums (for the first time in years) with Sir Roderick Ory, drummer for New Found Addiction (the band that opened for us Thanksgiving night, November, 2001.) Once again, I used the remote recording capabilities of the C.O.G., doing a six track drum recording at his practice space in St. Rose, on his wonderful new set of drums. AKG C3000's were used as overheads, with Shure 57's on most of the toms, except for the last two which were mic'd with EV N/D357 mics. The toms were recorded wide open and sound absolutely gorgeous. Two complete useable drum takes were laid down to be edited later. Roddy's also going to visit the studio in the next few days and help finish the already lush background vocals...
